This is a vintage cast iron trivet that is no longer produced. In the Pa Dutch culture thay were used on stove tops to set pots and pans on them to keep food away from the heat but keeping food warm. Today they are used as delightful decorations in the kitchen and home. Please see pictures for details.
This is new information given to me about this trivet design.
"Some people think they are brooms. They are actually tassels. Original trivet was called "Lincoln Drape" because the tassels looked like the tassels on the casket cover for Abraham Lincoln."
